Zoma: The Perfect Sports Mattress might not be something you have heard about in the mattress world, as they are fairly new to the market. Targeting athletes and those with an active lifestyle, Zoma has created a new kind of zoned mattress. A zoned mattress is made with different types of material to support different areas of the body, and Zoma has produced their own innovative take on this to help support rest and rejuvenation.
The Zoma Sports Mattress is designed to give active people the most restful sleep of their lives. Boasting the use of cutting-edge design and technology, Zoma mattresses are created to promote faster muscle recovery, improved athletic performance, and deeper sleep. The goal of the Zoma Sports Mattress is to help athletes go harder and faster the next day.
Although Zoma is not shy about their target demographic, their mattresses aren’t just for athletes, but for anyone who would benefit from enhanced muscle recovery and deeper sleep.
With a 100 night guarantee and a ten-year warranty, you really can’t go wrong giving a Zoma Sports Mattress a try.
I had the chance to review a Queen-sized Zoma Sports Mattress, so you can read on if you’re interested in hearing a little more about it before you make a decision!

Product Offering
Zoma offers three basic products for their customers: The Sports Mattress, The Zoma Sports Pillow, and the Zoma Foundation. The simplicity of their offerings is refreshing because there isn’t much research or reading involved, once you’ve settled on Zoma. Because they only offer these three products, it’s safe to say that Zoma is confident that their products are versatile and will work great for all sleepers.
The sports mattress, as we discussed above, is created with innovative technology to help people with an active lifestyle enjoy deeper sleep, muscle recovery, and rejuvenation to be able to hit the ground running the next day.
The Zoma Sports Pillow is encased in ventilated fabric to keep you cool and filled with shredded micro-cushions for maximum comfort. You can adjust the micro-cushions yourself to adjust the pillow to suit your needs.
The foundation is pretty cool because it can function like a boxspring or like a bed, with legs that can be attached and detached. It is covered in a breathable fabric much like the other products, and comes with slats that are spaced to support the sports mattress correctly. The foundation looks really easy to set-up using Zoma’s smart corner clips and no tools, which we can appreciate!

Zoma currently has a promotion where shoppers can get $100 off a mattress using the code WIN100.
Sleep Trials, Warranties & Return Policy
One of the best things about buying a Zoma mattress online is the peace of mind that comes with knowing you can return it if it doesn’t work for you. Zoma offers a 100-day money-back guarantee. You can try the Zoma mattress in your home for 100 days and if you aren’t satisfied, you can return it for a full refund, and the best part? Zoma will even come pick it up for you! You really can’t beat that.
The 100 day trial doesn’t begin until the mattress arrives at your house, so you truly get 100 full days to give it a chance. I think this policy really shows Zoma’s faith in their product.
Zoma recommends giving the mattress a chance for at least 30 days, as sometimes your body goes through an adjustment period when you begin sleeping on a new mattress.
Either way, 30 days or 100 days, you are definitely going to get a much better feel for whether you like the mattress or not than if you just laid on it for a few minutes in a showroom. Buying a mattress online can feel risky, but with these kinds of guarantees, I think it’s almost riskier to purchase in a showroom!
So now you’ve tried your new Zoma Sports Mattress for 100 days and you love it, and you’re keeping it. What if something happens to it? Well, they’ve got you covered there, too. Zoma offers a 10-year warranty for any issues related to craftsmanship and quality.

The Zoma Sports Mattress is the one and only mattress offering from Zoma, designed for athletes and all those with an active lifestyle to rest, rejuvenate, and recover through deeper sleep. I slept on a Queen-sized Zoma Sports mattress and found that it lived up to its promises, helped with spinal alignment and pressure-point relief, and had very little motion transfer which provided deep, uninterrupted sleep. When it arrived, rolled up in the box as expected, as I was pretty excited to give it a try and see if it really lived up to its promise to provide a restful night sleep. Read on to learn more about the Zoma Sports Mattress.
What Sizes Is It Available In?
The Zoma Sports Mattress comes in the following sizes:
- Twin 38” x 74”
- Full 54” x 75”
- Queen 60” x 80”
- King 76” x 80”
- California King 72” x 84”
- Split King 38” x 80”
What’s It Made Out Of?
The Zoma Sports Mattress is a new take on the zoned mattress. Zoned mattresses are made of different materials in different areas to support specific parts and functions of the body.
The support layer ensures long-lasting durability and stability. Called Support+, this layer is the high-density base for the mattress. The support layer allows for consistent, reliable pressure relief for the hips and shoulders, while maintaining the spine’s natural alignment–something that is important to all sleepers, not just athletes.
The Reactiv™ layer, unique to Zoma mattresses, is a responsive layer that automatically adjusts as you change positions and minimizes motion transfer. This layer provides undisturbed sleep and recovery.
The zoned layer, called Triangulex™, also specially designed by Zoma, delivers targeted comfort, support, and pressure-relief. Triangulex™ is comprised of hundreds of triangular segments spaced according to strategic comfort zones. This layer is created to target and relieve pain-causing pressure points and to provide optimal temperature control.
The mattress is then covered in a breathable, cooling material that allows for a comfortable and uninterrupted sleep.
Clearly, Zoma has put thought and innovation into each step and each layer of their product. Every piece obviously plays a role, staying true to their commitment to provide more restful sleep and recovery for an active person.
Is It Good For…?
Everyone has their preferences. Read on to see if this mattress will deliver on your personal sleep needs.
Side Sleepers
Yes. The Triangulex™ layer is designed to help relieve pain-causing pressure points such as those in the hips and shoulders that side-sleepers might particularly notice. I usually sleep on my side, and I found that the mattress held true to its promise to keep the spine in alignment – something that side sleepers often have to worry about.
Stomach Sleepers
Yes. Some people have said that the top layer is a bit too soft for stomach sleeping and might be more suitable for side sleepers. However, the mattress provides support across your entire body and conforms to your position, so it should still be comfortable. Plus, because no down is used as a filling, you don’t have to worry about allergies or dust mites.
Back Pain
Yes. Humans aren’t designed to sleep on a flat, hard mattress. This mattress contours to the shape of your spine providing restful sleep that doesn’t just relieve pain, but helps to prevent further pain. The Triangulex layer provides more firmness for your shoulders and back and softer comfort for your head and neck. The zoned support can be really beneficial for back pain sufferers.
Hot Sleepers
Yes. The material is made to wick away moisture and keep you cool throughout the night. Although the mattress itself doesn’t seem to be cooling, it doesn’t seem to promote or capture heat, either.
Heavy People
Some reviews say that because there are no coils, this mattress might not be best for heavier people. However, because the Reactiv layer helps to prevent motion transfer, and the Triangulex layer provides ample support for pressure points and spinal alignment, I think that this mattress would be great to try.
Where Can I Buy It?
Zoma mattresses are sold online at ZomaSleep.com. They are also available on Amazon.com.
How Much Does It Cost?
The Zoma Sports Mattress starts at $550 for Twin size and goes up from there. The California King size is $1200. Overall, I think the price matches the benefits and when it comes to mattresses, I don’t think Zoma is overpriced.
Is It Worth It?
As a newer company on the market, Zoma is making a name for themselves, especially with their target market – athletes and those who put heavy demands on their bodies. I think Zoma would be a great choice not only for people who lead an athletically active life, but people who engage in physical labor for work, are recovering from injuries, or are just active and on-the-go throughout the day, and in need of restful, uninterrupted sleep.
The innovative technology used in Zoma Mattresses to keep your spine aligned while sleeping is not just beneficial, it is imperative. If you’ve ever been to a chiropractor, you’ve probably heard how important it is to sleep in a way that keeps your spine aligned. This is something that is important to me in a mattress, so I was pretty pleased with this feature and how it functioned in the Zoma Sports mattress. I didn’t feel the need to put a pillow between my knees like I often do to make sure that my back is not going to hurt the next day.
The Triangulex layer is probably the defining feature of the Zoma mattress. It provides ample support for your shoulders, back, and hips, and soft comfort for the head and neck without the deep sink of traditional memory foam, although it is known for being slightly softer than some people may prefer.
Zoma mattresses stay cool even in hot temperatures. If you are a hot sleeper or live in a place that gets particularly warm, a Zoma mattress might be a good choice for you.
This is also a great choice if you move around a lot during the night or have a partner who does. Plus, you have 100 days to test out this mattress in your own home starting from the day it is delivered. Typically, a mattress will require a 30 days break-in period before you can accurately assess its comfort and support. So you get two full months after the break-in period to really get a feel for the mattress.
When the mattress arrives, it will need about 24 hours to unroll and be ready to sleep on. You will need to have room for it in the meantime while this happens.
Shipping Info
Zoma mattresses ship as quickly as 3-5 days after ordering, and they provide free curbside shipping! This is a great benefit because oftentimes large purchases like mattresses can cost hundreds of dollars in shipping costs. The only downside is that you will have to be present to get the mattress when it arrives, and probably have someone to help you get it inside.
The mattress will come rolled up, as shown in my picture from when it arrived. You’ll have to open it up and let it unfold for about 24 hours before it is ready to sleep on. The nice thing about it arriving rolled up is that it is easier to get into the house!
Best Bed Frame / Foundation for the Zoma Sports Mattress
Zoma offers a foundation for their mattress that has attachable/detachable legs–a unique concept. It is made of solid wood and designed to specifically support the Zoma Sports Mattress for durability and comfort.
The foundation is really easy to assemble and doesn’t even require any tools–a huge perk in my opinion. The foundation is assembled with smart corner clips and the legs just twist on.
It’s covered by a breathable, 100% polyester knit fabric adding to the cooling feature of the bed overall, and providing further layers of durability to your Zoma Sports bed.
The foundation comes with a 5-year warranty.
Why Not To Buy a Zoma Mattress
Some reviews of the Zoma mattress point out that it might not be best for people who are heavy or people who do not like the feel of memory foam.
One of the chief complaints about the Zoma mattress is that it is not firm enough in some areas. I agree that the top of the bed is not particularly firm, and some sleepers definitely may prefer a firmer surface than the Zoma provides. The layers underneath the top layer have a definite firmness, however, especially in the back, shoulder, and hip areas. Some users have noted that they felt they were more positioned “into” the bed, rather than “on” top of the bed because of its softness–but this is sort of characteristic of all memory foam. This kind of surface does work well for side-sleepers, so that might explain why I felt it was particularly comfortable, while others may not.
Similar Brands
Similar mattress brands are Nectar and Molecule.
Nectar and Zoma are both made with memory foam material. Zoma’s is not as dense as the memory foam in Nectar and does not “hug” the body the way a Nectar mattress does. Both are considered to have a very soft top layer, but Nectar’s top layer seems to be softer than Zoma’s.
Molecule and Zoma seem to be the most similar overall. They have a similar softness, but the Zoma seems to be the best options for side and back sleepers and those looking for pressure point relief, while the Molecule is great for side and back sleepers as well as stomach sleepers. Molecule is a great choice for people who prefer zoned layers.
Conclusion
Overall, the Zoma Sport Mattress gets a solid A. The mattress is designed to help those with an active lifestyle get a restful sleep that promotes muscle recovery and uninterrupted slumber. Zoma boasts unique technology that helps minimize motion transfer and support the spine, while relieving pressure points.
This new take on the zoned mattress is made with layers that have specific roles in the overall task of helping your body to recover while you sleep. Each layer plays an important part and works in synchronization with the other layers to provide overall comfort and rest for the sleeper.
The Zoma Sport Mattress is great for most sleepers, but is probably best for side sleepers because of the particularly soft top layer.
The price point is really affordable when it comes to mattresses, and the 100 day money back guarantee coupled with the 10 year warranty make Zoma a fantastic option, especially when it comes to buying a mattress online.
We recommend that you give the The Zoma Sports Mattress a try because we not only think it will provide restful and deep sleep that you might not be experiencing now, but because the benefits far outweigh the risks thanks to Zoma’s clear trust in their product.
