They use only the best materials for you and for the environment. The Ecosa mattress memory foams are made using the highest quality processes, meaning healthier sleep and a lower environmental footprint. The mattress covers are made from Tencel and Oeko-Tex 100 Certified, so they’re naturally gentle on your skin and use environmentally responsible manufacturing processes.
Any Ecosa mattress or pillow that is returned to the company is donated to a family in need. No Ecosa returns go to landfill–something that really piqued our interest. Comfortable sleep with high-quality materials is a top priority, but environmentally friendly and philanthropic are added bonuses that we can definitely get behind. To date, Ecosa has donated over 3000 mattresses and over 300 pillows.
Plus, they offer a 100-night trial, so you can be sure that you really love your Ecosa mattress before you commit.
Product Offering
Ecosa offers a pillow and a mattress, and as they say, they keep it pretty simple.
The mattress comes in all sizes from Twin to Cal King and the prices are really reasonable, especially compared to prices for mattresses purchased in-store.
The waterproof cover contains microfilaments to protect the mattress from bacteria and dust mites. The memory foam’s firmness is customizable (something my 6 year old was really intrigued by…and I’ll admit…me too.)
You might wonder why they only offer one kind of mattress, but that’s because they really believe their product works for everyone, no matter how they sleep. The Ecosa is specially formed to support your spine’s natural alignment, allowing you a restorative sleep where you wake feeling pain-free and refreshed.
Air flows freely through all layers of this mattress, meaning you won’t be hot when you’re sleeping.
The mattress can rest on a variety of bases – the floor, an adjustable base, a boxspring, etc., making it versatile to suit whatever your situation is.
Ecosa also offers one pillow that comes in a standard size, and they promise it is going to change the way you sleep forever (and I think I agree–it’s pretty great). The pillow comes in an ergonomic design and the height is customizable. You can adjust the pillow to best suit your neck, using the adjustable height pads.
Ecosa doesn’t lack comfort but also isn’t too soft. It contours to your head and neck at all the right pressure points.
It has a removable, washable cover, a breathable structure that disperses moisture from the surface, and an activated charcoal memory foam that promotes odor control and antibacterial protection.
We really love the travel bag that came with the pillow, too. You can roll your Ecosa pillow up, put it in the travel bag, and take it with you wherever you go.
2024 Ecosa Coupons, Discounts, Sales, and Deals
Ecosa is an online retailer. They are currently offering $200 off their mattresses through their website, as well as free shipping and returns.
Sleep Trials, Warranties & Return Policy
Buying a mattress online is definitely becoming more popular and companies like Ecosa are taking the scary guesswork out of it. They offer a 100-night trial, a 15-year warranty, free shipping, and free returns. As we mentioned above, something we really love about this company is that they donate 100% of their returned mattresses, which means no Ecosa mattresses in the landfill, and families receiving a comfy, quality mattress that they need.
The same goes for Ecosa pillows! You get a 100-night trial with a full refund if you decide you don’t like it. And if you do return it, they donate your pillow a family in need through one of their partner charities.
Reviewed: Ecosa Mattress
Ecosa only has one type of mattress but it comes in all sizes. We have the Ecosa Twin and our 6 year old sleeps on it. He also has an Ecosa pillow in the standard size.
What Sizes Is It Available In?
The Ecosa Mattress comes in the following sizes:
- Twin 39W” by 75L” by 10H”
- Twin XL 39W” by 80L” by 10H”
- Full 54W” by 75L” by 10H”
- Queen 60W” by 80L” by 10H”
- King 76W” by 80L” by 10H”
- California King 72W” by 84L” by 10H”
What’s It Made Out Of?
The Ecosa mattress has an easy to zip off premium washable cover that keeps the air flowing freely.
The next layer is Ecosa’s own eco-tex memory foam–an open cell foam layer that’s bouncy like latex but more durable and breathable.
Then, Ecosa includes an ergonomic support foam that aligns your spine and supports your pressure points. This layer also helps keep the motion transfer to a minimum, allowing for less partner disturbance (this was actually important for us when our son got this mattress because the Tooth Fairy needs to be able to sneak in undetected.) On a more serious note, though, this is great for couples who are concerned about being woken up as their partner moves in bed.
Next is the G-7 gel memory foam layer, infused with gel particles for desired temperature control.
Finally, Ecosa uses a waterproof inner cover made with German micro-filament technology. This makes the mattress waterproof and dust-mite free.
You can also customize the top layer to be exactly the firmness you need. The Ecosa comes with a firm, medium-firm, or medium top layer. You can decide which firmness works best for you, and you can change it, as needed.
Is It Good For…?
Everyone has their preferences. Read on to see if this mattress will deliver on your personal needs. We love that Ecosa has reviewers identify how they sleep on their site when leaving a review, so you can see what people who sleep like you or have similar preferences have to say about the mattress.
Side Sleepers
Yes. The Ecosa mattress keeps your spine aligned and relieves your pressure points, something that is very important for side-sleepers.
Stomach Sleepers
Maybe. We really do believe that the Ecosa can work for anyone because of the customizable firmness. However, the top layer might not be as firm as needed to make stomach sleeping comfortable for all.
Back Pain
Yes. The Ecosa mattress is designed to support your spine as well as each of your pressure points. The customizable firmness makes it easy to achieve the feel that you need to support your back.
According to the Ecosa website, more than 2 in 3 customers noticed an improvement in their back problems after sleeping on the Ecosa memory foam mattress.
Hot Sleepers
Yes. The Ecosa mattress wicks away moisture and keeps air moving freely. It is known for sleeping much cooler than other memory foam mattresses, as well.
Heavy People
Yes. The bed’s customizable firmness makes it comfortable for people in all weight categories.
Sex
No. Because Ecosa is highly efficient in the area of motion transfer, it doesn’t provide as much responsiveness or bounciness as people might prefer.
Where Can I Buy It?
Ecosa mattresses are sold directly through their website.
How Much Does It Cost?
The mattresses range in price from $500 for the Twin to $850 for the Cal King, making them one of the more affordable options for online mattress retailers, especially for the specs, design, and comfort.
Is It Worth It?
The Ecosa mattress is really one of a kind, with each layer specifically designed to offer comfortable, deep sleep.
Designed to wick away moisture and keep air moving freely, the Ecosa mattress sleeps cooler than almost all other memory foam mattresses.
If you are a side sleeper or back sleeper, the mattress will offer optimum support, relieving your natural pressure points and keeping your spine aligned throughout the night.
If you are concerned about motion transfer, the Ecosa is top-notch and will allow you a restful night’s sleep no matter how much your partner moves.
The different layers in the mattress create a perfect balance of comfort and support. 2 out of 3 people report experiencing less back pain once they switched to an Ecosa mattress.
One of the best features of an Ecosa mattress (and the pillow, too, in our opinion) is the customizable firmness. You can add or remove layers to create a sleeping experience that is perfect for you. (Little did I know just how particular my 6 year old was going to be about the firmness of his new mattress…)
With the 100-night trial and the 15-year warranty, we don’t think you can go wrong with Ecosa. If your 100 nights pass and you aren’t satisfied, your Ecosa mattress isn’t going to end up in the landfill, but rather with a family in need through one of Ecosa’s partner charities.
There are a lot of memory foam mattresses on the market to choose from. With Ecosa’s reasonable price point, multiple specially designed layers, and customizations, we think that Ecosa is really one of the best choices you can make.
My 6 year old says:
“It is very cozy and it is fun to snuggle with people. The mattress is really soft and when I lay on it it doesn’t just crunch down. It’s like I am laying on top of it instead of in it. I get a really good night sleep. It is not hot or cold – it feels just right. I like that it is really tall. I sleep on my back and I fall right to sleep when my mom turns the light off. My old mattress felt good and cozy most of the time, but I crunched down into it when I laid down on it and I was always hot. I liked being able to take out the pieces to make it the right coziness for me. I used to like my brother’s bed better than mine, but now my bed is the comfiest in the house. Everyone likes to lay on it.”
Shipping Info
The Ecosa mattress ships free via in the United States via Fed-Ex Ground. It is delivered within 1-7 business days. Ecosa will email you a tracking number so you can track your shipment as you await your new mattress!
When your mattress arrives, it will be rolled up in a box, and it will need time to expand. Our son’s mattress took less than a day to fully expand, and it was easy to get out of the box.
Best Bed Frame / Foundation for the Ecosa Mattress
The Ecosa mattress is designed to rest on any surface. You can put your Ecosa mattress on the floor, on a slatted base, on a box spring or foundation (this is how we have my son’s and it works great!), or even on an adjustable base.
Why Not To Buy an Ecosa Mattress
Ecosa requires a 14-day break-in period during the sleep trial. You might find the Ecosa mattress not as comfortable as you had hoped when you first sleep on it. You will need to give it about 2 weeks before you can make a decision. But with a 100-night trial, 2 weeks isn’t too big of a deal.
Ecosa mattresses have less edge support than other mattresses of their kind. Some memory foam mattress manufacturers use firmer memory foam on the edges so that the bed doesn’t sink or compress when you sit on the edge. Ecosa mattresses do not have the edge support of other mattresses and definitely not of the traditional mattresses you might be used to in the past.
If you are looking for responsiveness or bounciness in your mattress, Ecosa, even with the customizable layer, is not going to provide that. The top layer ranges from medium to firm, and it provides ample motion transfer protection, which conversely then doesn’t give it much responsiveness.
Similar Brands
Two popular competitors are Casper and Tuft & Needle.
Casper mattresses use multi-layered hybrid foam. While these mattresses are very comfortable, they don’t typically provide as much support. The Ecosa mattress supports a wide range of sleeping positions and body sizes.
Tuft & Needle mattresses are generally considered a good choice for those who sweat in the night. With a light mattress cover, air can flow freely to keep the sleeper comfortable and cool. The Ecosa mattress allows for ample airflow, making them one of the coolest memory foam mattresses on the market.
The one thing that really sets Ecosa apart from other mattresses of its kind is the fact that it has a customizable firmness, making it awesome for people whose firmness preferences might change from night to night.
Conclusion
Overall, Ecosa mattresses get an A from us. The mattress itself provides comfortable support for just about everybody regardless of size or preferred sleeping position. Plus, the customizable top layer allows you to choose your firmness and comfort, and also allows you to make changes to that as needed from night to night.
The Ecosa mattress is a safe buy. You have 100 nights to sleep on the mattress in your own home. Aside from getting a solid sense of the comfort of the mattress, you’ll also know how well the mattress is suited to the way you sleep and what you are looking for.
Ecosa mattresses are a great choice for couples. They provide great motion transfer protection, so you won’t be woken up at night by someone moving around, or, if you’re our 6 year old, a late-night visit from the Tooth Fairy won’t cause you to stir.
The price is great and is actually on the low-end for similar mattresses with comparable features.
We really recommend that you give Ecosa a try no matter your sleeping preferences, your size, or your comfort needs. Ecosa really seems to run the gamut when it comes to mattress comfort, and basically anyone can get a good night sleep on an Ecosa.
